Las Vegas

Palazzo
October 22-25, 2009

I got my ID and I'm ready to go!

Cool clouds over the Pacific

awww Cocktail, you're so sweet. I love you too!

I was thrilled to find out that the Black Eyed Peas were opening the show. My favorite song of the moment is "Meet me half way." Fergie sounded amazing.

U2!!!
The show was incredible. They have been together since before I was born and they are still rocking out. The set, the sound quality, the energy of the fans...unbelievable.

Cha-Ching!!! (sadly, no jackpots for me)

Dr. Rey was at Nordstrom wearing the tightest white jeans you've ever seen.

Yikes, barefoot on the strip. Someone had a rough night :D
As you might recall from past Vegas posts, my favorite part about Vegas is the FOOD. And this trip did not disappoint. We went to all of our favorites, Tao, SushiSamba, Dos Caminos, Lavo (but they changed the menu, it's not as good as it used to be). Another great weekend in Las Vegas. xoxo

Henry Diltz

This weekend marks the the 40th Anniversary of Woodstock. Woodstock was held in Bethel, NY from August 15-17, 1969.

This morning on my drive to work, I listened to a short interview with Henry Diltz. Henry was the official on-stage photographer for the festival. Let his photos be your inspiration (to party woodstock style) this weekend.

Ed and Farrah are sooo pissed!

The power of 3's is in effect.

Ed McMahon, Farrah Fawcett and Michael Jackson all passed away this week. Sad new across the board.

I don't mean to sound cold or insensitive, but the Michael Jackson I loved died a long, long time ago.

Cute kiddo Michael

King of Pop-Thirller Michael

Who's this creepy guy?

February 20, 1967 – April 5, 1994

Sunday marks the 15th anniversary of Kurt Cobains death.

I was 13 when he killed himself. Nirvana was HUGE! I loved Nirvana, still do. I was in the car with my parents and a friend. We had the radio on and I remember the DJ saying that Kurt Cobain had been found dead. My heart broke. I can't believe it has been 15 years.

PS~ Who would have thought Dave Grohl would be the breakout star? He is wildly talented and I'm so happy that he has had so much success.

viva las vegas

My love and I are heading to Las Vegas tonight for a long weekend to celebrate his birthday.

It is no secret, I love Las Vegas! I love the lights, the energy and the possibility that you can hit a jackpot! It doesn't happen for everyone, but the possibility is real. And it is the endless possibilities that keep life interesting.

UPDATE: Pictures from our weekend.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LOVE!!

Naturally, my favorite part about Las Vegas is the restaurants! We went to our favorites: Tao, Dos Caminos and SushiSamba. We also tried Lavo for the first time. The food was ah.maze.ing! The seating was awful! We had to sit in a row so close to another table we might as well have been on a double date. I will go back, but only if we can sit elsewhere.

Life is the ultimate work of art

Vicky Cristina Barcelona

I watched Vicky Cristina Barcelona last week, and LOVED it! It's classic Woody Allen, a lot of dialogue. Very inspiring! I believe that if you want something, you have to put it out there...say it, put it in the universe, and watch it manifest. I will go to Barcelona in the near future, mark. my. words. (wink)

SxSW

My boyfriend is in Austin for South By Southwest. I'm at home, working :(

If you are there too, I found fun game for you to play...like there isn't enough going on to keep you occupied.

Grammy Shwammy

Did you watch the Grammy's? Kinda lame...and awkward.

Radiohead had the best performance, the USC marching band was an execellent touch. My second favorite was Kanye and Estelle, short, sweet and flawless.

MIA was fun to watch too. I was just waiting for her water to break.

Happy Birthday Oprah!

Shouldn't today be like a national holiday or something?
Big O is 55!

On February18, 2008 I got the wonderful opportunity (thanks love) to go to a taping of The Oprah Winfrey Show in Chicago.

After the show, everyone is ushered across the street to the Oprah store where she sells Oprah branded EVERYTHING! Seriously, I got Oprah socks! She even sells her own gently worn designer clothes at a tiny fraction of their retail price and better yet, the proceeds go to the Angel Network.

It was at the Oprah store that I learned she and I have something in common!

Oprah wears a size 10 shoe, just. like. me.

This is a photo from the day of my taping. She was promoting Horton Hears a Who!

Separated at birth?

Many people have told me I look like Sara Bareilles.
I can see similarities from certain angles.
What do you think?

Banksy

“New Yorkers don’t care about art, they care about pets. So I’m exhibiting them instead. I wanted to make art that questioned our relationship with animals and the ethics and sustainability of factory farming, but it ended up as chicken nuggets singing. I took all the money I made exploiting an animal in my last show and used it to fund a new show about the exploitation of animals. If its art and you can see it from the street, I guess it could still be considered street art."

Best Birthday EVER!

Las Vegas
August 26-31, 2008
Palazzo Hotel

Here is the video as promised. It is 100% "stop motion." Which means it was made from photos, about 600 photos to be exact! So this "video" isn't actually a video at all!
Music: DANCE by Justice
ENJOY!
(and don't expand the screen, it gets too pixelated)

Abe and I spent the week in one of our favorite vacation destinations, LAS VEGAS!

We stayed at our new favorite hotel, The Palazzo. (This was the 3rd time this year that we stayed here.) We dined at our favorite restaurants, laid by the pool, celebrated my birthday every night, bet big bucks on 22 and 27 (our favorite numbers) and we both came home with more money than we left with! It was an amazing trip.

Tuesday, 8-26-08 Checked in, relaxed.

The last photo of me as a 27 year old! 11:58pm

Wednesday, 8-27-08 Birthday, Pool, Cut.

The first photo of me as a 28 year old!

Pool tradeshow, BetaUnit booth

After returning from a long day, I was surprised to find a dozen gorgeous roses in our room! Along with the loveliest card of all time.
That night Abe surprised me with dinner at CUT in a big private booth. And for dessert....DIAMONDS! He surprised me again, with beautiful diamond earrings! And guess what? I didn't have my camera!! Of all nights, I didn't bring my camera!

Thursday, 8-28-08 Gamble, Tao, Le Reve.

For the rest of the week, we celebrated my birthday every night!

Tao, our fav!

Le Reve, beautiful show!

Le Reve

Friday, 8-29-08 Pool, Gamble, SushiSamba, Gamble, Aqua Knox, Gamble.

SushiSamba. We have enjoyed SushiSamba in Miami and Chicago. So we were excited to see that one opened in the Palazzo!

This is the delicious Kobe Slider.

Aqua Knox, another amazing birthday dinner!

Saturday 8-30-08 Gamble, Pool, Rosemary's.

My parents recommended Rosemary's for a nice dinner. And they were right, it was wonderful! It is off the strip, but worth the trip (ha ha, I rhymed)

Making a wish!

Sunday 8-31-08 Dance, Pack, Gamble, Fly.

Time to go :(

Bye-Bye Vegas

Reading Save Karyn, great book!

Hello San Diego!

I love flying into San Diego. It's the best place in the world to come home to.

These photos kinda make it look like all we did was eat for a week. Which is not true. We actually spent a lot of time in the casino, but as you know, they don't allow photography in casinos...and I don't like to break rules :D So that is why all of out pics are at restaurants. Oh, and Abe made a great video of our trip too. I'll post it as soom as it's done.

Like I said before, Best Birthday EVER!

Thanks Love, I love You!!!
